Tamsin Baker is visiting us today with her latest Evernight Publishing contemporary shifter romance release, Stalking the Pharmacist, book 2 of the Perfect pairs series. Welcome back, Tamsin.
On the surface, Ashleigh had it all—money, a great career, and a successful husband. But behind closed doors, life wasn’t so pretty. Now she’s free, and determined to never let herself be vulnerable again. So when she gets an invite to her cousin’s wedding, she jumps at the chance to get away. The small town nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains seems like the perfect place to unwind and start forgetting about her abusive ex-husband. The last thing she expects to see is her beloved cousin Laura marrying two men, and to 8find herself irrationally attracted to a pair of twins.
Scientist Scott and football coach Jack are a perfect pair of mountain lion shifters who made the horrible decision when they were young to break from tradition. Each married a woman who made his life miserable, rather than search for their destined mate. Now in their forties, they’ve all but given up on finding their mate—until they see her. All the signs show that Ash is their true mate. Jack is eager and ready to chase, but Scott’s scars run deep. Will they be able to overcome the past and create a new future?
“Hey, Aunt Rosalie. Congratulations on finally marrying those two off.”
Jack kissed the woman, and Ash gulped air into her lungs. What on earth had happened outside when Jack and his twin, Scott, had touched her? It had been like they’d reached inside her and attached electrodes to her soul, shooting pleasure into her belly and destroying her ability to hold her own body weight. If Jack hadn’t stepped forward when he had, she would have ended up on the ground, a pulsing mess of sensations.
“Yeah, well they had to wait for the right woman to come along, didn’t they, Jack?”
Something almost stern in Rosalie’s tone snapped Ash’s attention back to their conversation and she watched a slash of red color Jack’s handsome face.
“Yes, they were much smarter than I.”
Oh, so he was married? He wasn’t wearing a ring, although that wasn’t a given for all men. Divorced, then? Or had he let someone go?
Rosalie turned back to her, blue eyes glowing with warmth.
“Jack have you met Laura’s cousin Ash? She’s a pharmacist from Toronto.”
Ash’s belly tightened as Jack’s sparkling ocean-blue eyes met hers, a smile tilting up his full lips.
“I did, outside for a moment, though I didn’t realize she was a pharmacist.”
Ash swallowed the lump that had risen in her throat and straightened her shoulders. She could do this. Conduct a conversation with a man she couldn’t keep her eyes off.
“What do you do, Jack?”
He grinned at her, that smile lighting its way down into the pit of her belly, pulling on an area between her thighs that Ash had believed had died a long time ago. After her ex-husband had done such a good job of destroying her self-esteem, she hadn’t thought a man would ever truly appeal to her again.
She squeezed her thighs together and almost gasped at the jolt of longing that just being so close to this man brought her. She’d never believed in lust at first sight, but this had to be it!
“I’m a football coach for the local high school. I played pro ball for a few years after college.”
Ash’s blood cooled like the heat had never been. He said that with such arrogance, as though it was actually impressive! She frowned and looked away. What was the easiest way of escaping? Maybe say she needed to go to the toilet?
“Oh, that’s nice. Would you excuse me? Rosalie, could you tell me where the bathroom is, please?”
Jack’s eyes went wide and his mouth fell open slightly.
Yeah, I’m not impressed by the fact that you can kick a bloody ball around, buddy.
She smiled at Rosalie and tried to ignore the odd pain in her gut. Why would she want to stay and talk to a footballer, for God’s sake? Thick as a brick and more focused on his body than anything of importance.
Rosalie’s eyes widened as though she were shocked by Ash’s reaction, but Ash wasn’t budging. How stupid did they think she was to fall for the charm of a philanderer? Ash waited for the information she’d requested, smiling as sweetly as possible at her hostess.
“Head down the hallway there, and it’s the third door on the left.”
Ash gave Jack a half smile and bobbed her head. “Nice to meet you.”
She turned on her heel for the second time in ten minutes and headed off in the direction Rosalie had sent her.
The house was incredible. The ceilings were high and the rooms were spacious, yet had that cozy home feel that only special people managed. She stopped outside the bathroom and stared at the framed picture on the wall. It was of Tyler and Brandon, about fifteen years earlier. They were lanky and their noses were too big, yet their smiles were exactly the same. Cheeky and oh-so-charming. Her cousin was a lucky woman, indeed. Assuming of course they didn’t turn into the arrogant pigs most men could be. Though judging by their mother, they’d be skinned alive if they did.
“I love that photo.”
Rosalie had snuck up behind her and poked her nose over Ash’s shoulder.
Ash turned and smiled at the proud mother. “My cousin seems very happy, Rosalie. I’m so glad she’s found someone…ah…” Laura was sorta married to both of them, right? Ash had read the invitation wrong and turned up two hours early. She’d been shocked at first to see two grooms surrounding her cousin, but Laura’s happiness had been so evident, it was impossible to judge her harshly. “I mean, men who will look after her, love her.”
Rosalie swiveled so she was blocking Ash’s escape into the bathroom, her abundant figure beautiful in its feminine shapes.
“She is, but so are they.”
Ash nodded. “I don’t know your sons at all, but I do know Laura. That woman is a gem.”
Rosalie crossed her arms over her impressive bust and looked at her with intense eyes. Ash cocked her head at the older woman.
“Is there something you want to tell me, Rosalie?”
Rosalie’s beautiful eyes were troubled as she worried her lower lip with her teeth.
“My sons are a perfect pair. Which means that they are perfect compliments to each other, in both looks and personality. Pretty much think of it as your perfect man, divided into two.”
Ashleigh laughed, the bubbles spreading through her belly and out. She had to cover her mouth with her hand, she was so loud.
“Well, in my experience that would be the only way to get a halfway decent man.”
Rosalie frowned at her, and Ash stopped laughing. That was probably too much information for a woman she barely knew.
“Jack and Scott are a perfect pair also, so please don’t dismiss Jack because you think he isn’t educated enough. He has a college degree, but chooses to spend his life educating young men about the strength of their bodies. Scott is a scientist with the government, he chose a different path.”
Heat seared a path up Ash’s neck and blossomed across her face. The tone Rosalie had just taken with her could only be called chastising, and she was feeling it right down to her sickened belly.
Guilty as charged.
“I don’t like football, or footballers, Rosalie. I have just endured a very nasty divorce, so please excuse my rude behavior. I’m not interested in anyone, especially two men who…”
She trailed off, her cross-referencing brain pulling together fibers she wasn’t sure she should.
Two men! Oh my God!
She took a breath and stared directly into Rosalie’s blue eyes, seeing the truth there before she even asked the dreaded question.
“Rosalie, do all perfect pairs marry one woman?”
She placed her hands on her hips and barely stopped herself from tapping her foot when Rosalie looked down for a moment.
Then the woman looked back up, her mouth tight as she nodded. “Yes. They are designed to find one perfect woman for them.”
Oh God, no.
It’s been a while since Tamsin Baker has been to the Spicy Butterfly Garden, but she is no stranger here. Today, she brings us her Evernight Publishing novella, FIrst Bite. If you haven’t guessed from the title, it involves one of my favorite paranormal-type species – VAMPIRES. Welcome back and congratulations, Tamsin! 🙂
Can two possessive and passionate vampire’s make a relationship work with the one human they are both destined to love?
Benedict’s boring existence as a London gentleman is called into question the night he meets Lina, the madame of a local brothel. Under her dominance he finds pleasure so sweet he is hungry for more, but he is not the only one with an appetite to fill.
Lina entices the beautiful Benedict into her dungeon only to discover that he is her blood mate. Fear fills her as she enters the unknown, yet the lure of perfect bliss is too much.
Antony, Lina’s long time friend and lover finds Lina and Benedict and cannot help joining in the sexual bliss. Disaster strikes for the tortured hero when he too learns he is Benedict’s blood mate. He must face a past that still devastates him and find a way to make their ménage work.
Lina focused on pushing her hunger for Benedict’s blood down to a less rampant level. She wanted to play with her prey for a little while first.
“Walk over to the wooden step to your left.”
Benedict turned his head and located the piece of equipment she was talking about. She sensed his fear inching up a notch but he did what she said.
Lina watched him move, feeling his emotions as though they were her own. He was naturally confident, strong and sure of himself. She would make him submit to her and in it he would find the greatest pleasure.
“Lay across the bench. Reach over as far down as you can.”
His eyes flashed a little, mutiny gathering in their yellow flecks.
“Lina, I’m not going to…”
“You will do as I tell you to, Benedict.” She placed a soft blanket over the wood to protect his pelvis, then she pointed at the bench expectantly. She could make him, she was far stronger, but this type of pleasure had to be accepted willingly, there was no other way.
“Will you hurt me?”
She flashed him a smile no one had ever resisted.
“Yes, but I will not harm you. If you yell stop, I’ll stop.”
His eyes narrowed as he replayed her words. She held his gaze, then pointed again.
He sighed but lay over the wood, his buttocks high, round and firm.
Lina groaned at the sight. What a magnificent specimen of a human male.
She knelt on the floor quickly to tie his ankles and wrists to the four separate legs of the bench, spreading him wide. Lina then stood and removed the annoying barriers of her dress, chemise and shoes.
Clad only in her garter belt and silk stockings, she pressed herself against Benedict’s ass, her wet pussy aching for release.
“Fuck…Lina!” Benedict struggled against his bonds, too strong for a mere human to break free from.
“Such a nice ass you have, Benedict and not a mark on it. Would you like me to spank you?”
He was silent as she reached between his legs and cupped the heavy sac.
The teasing tone of his response made her smile. She loved his cheekiness.
She controlled her swing, and spanked him: twice on his left cheek and four times on the right. He cried out on the last touch, so she leaned forward to kiss the pink skin.
“Did you like that, my pet?”
She ran her hands down the back of his powerful thighs and up his ass once again.
“I don’t know.”
Lina smiled again. An honest response, how pleasantly unusual.
“I need something more.”
Using speed a human couldn’t see, Lina chose a riding crop from the wall and was back before Benedict realized she had gone.
“I think you are a good man, Benedict, but also a very bad boy. Shall I use my riding crop on you?”
Where to Buy “First Bite”:
Tamsin Baker is an Aussie girl who just discovered erotic romance ten months ago. Before that, she would read sexy romance, skipping the plot and looking for the all the naughty bits. Since then, she has written erotic romance and erotica novels of varying length and has had thirty published (so far!). She absolutely loves reading and writing! She has two other jobs, including kids and a hubby too – but writing is a passion that she has to indulge for fear of insanity. M/M is a passion of hers so even when she writes ménage, there is always an M/M story. She particularly enjoys writing female dommes, but she loves experimenting in all genres. Tamsin is learning to write and read more one step at a time. Soon, she’ll have stories published in every sub-genre of erotic romance – well that’s her aim anyway!
Where to find Tamsin:
Today, I welcome a regular visitor back to the Spicy Butterfly Garden. Tamsin Baker! She has a new Evernight Publishing release ,Fighting Destiny, which it the first book in the series: The Shifters of the Land, Sea and Air. She’s swung by to tell us about her new series and new release and give us a spicy excerpt to keep us happy until we get our hands on her book! Take it away, Tamsin!
Hello again Jess! Thanks so much for having me on your blog to discuss my new release.
I suppose the first thing to tell you is that I never plot, ever. The plan to write Fighting Destiny, and thus the series, came about like this. “I think I’ll try a shifter book, ménage would be fun. Ok, what animals do I like?” Something along those lines. I got that initial scene of Jeremy having a cigarette in his room thinking about his home and that was it, I started writing. I had originally ‘planned’ to do a MFM ménage book, something different for me, but as the characters developed my boys just wouldn’t stop looking at each other and it turned into MMF. I swear, I tried really hard!
Most people do shifters of only one sort but I thought it would be fun to write about ‘warring’ groups. The land animals, the air animals and those of the sea. Each of my groups are ruled by five elders, with no definite Alpha. There is a legend about that:
“The legend goes that ‘the true Alpha will be strong and he will protect us all.
He will be of pure blood and mated to one of pure blood.’ ”
Which many people qualify for, but you only find out at the end what the last two lines to the prophecy are, and that Chase, my tiger shifter fulfills all of the needs. I love the idea of a reluctant Hero, and a tortured one is even better! You get a little bit of everything in this story and I really hope you enjoy it!
Jeremy left his small hometown ten years ago determined to get away from the female child who he is his predestined mate.
But Natalia, a rare tiger shifter, has been kidnapped and Jeremy chooses to return to help the land shifter pack find her.
What he doesn’t expect when he returns home, is his attraction to Natalia’s boyfriend Tommy and the fact that his tiger mate is still unclaimed.
Jeremy finds himself falling in love with both Tommy and Natalia, yet the rival shifters of the sky seem determined to rip them from him.
Tommy felt every bit of anger and frustration of the past few years boil up inside him. They had been waiting a decade for this big asshole to return from whatever hiatus he had gone on. Now that he was finally back, he was blaming Tommy for not sleeping with Natalia? Tommy’s hands clenched into fists at his side, and without any thought except for the wasted years they had waited, he swung his arm and connected, punching the tiger shifter in the jaw.
He heard a sickening crunch of bone on bone, and his hand throbbed like hell fire, but he continued to glare at the man who was now reeling backwards after Tommy’s blow.
“Me? She’s been waiting for you since she turned sixteen! We both have! Where the fuck have you been?” Tommy panted hard, his heart beating so fast he knew he was going to shift soon. He needed to get clear of the people nearby or he’d hurt someone.
He staggered towards the forest’s edge and pulled off his t-shirt and jeans. Jeremy followed him, his eyes narrowed and nursing his jaw. Fuck my hand hurts!
Tommy felt the heat of the Alpha’s gaze all the way to his throbbing balls, and he shifted, unwilling to deal with Natalia’s predestined mate a moment longer.
Grey fur, four legs, and a tail emerged where his human form used to be. He howled, long and loud. Then he turned his back on his friends and ran.
Dirt beneath his paws, he ducked and weaved through the thick tall trees. He needed to put as much space between him and the tiger as possible.
He couldn’t believe Jeremy was such a dick-head! Drop dead gorgeous, yes, but arrogant and unkind. Who was he to blame Tommy for not claiming Natalia?
He and Natalia had discussed it years ago. She wanted to wait for Jeremy to come home before she decided. Natalia had admitted to Tommy that she wanted both of them as mates, and if Jeremy would agree then she would bind herself to both of them.
But would Jeremy agree to sharing her with him? And what would Jeremy think about Tommy’s unnatural attraction to him?
Tommy ran, anger and confusion beating against him hard. He had a chance of outrunning Jeremy, but he was unable to escape the true despair chasing him.
Sensing movement behind him and not wanting to stop, he pushed himself harder. He knew who was coming.
A deep growl sounded behind him, and he whirled to face the tiger that landed on the dirt in front of him.
He was magnificent. Huge, bright orange and black with razor sharp white teeth.
Tommy snapped his jaws at the man that could be his Alpha and turned, ready to run. He couldn’t stay and fight an animal five times his size. But instead of running away as he wanted to do, he was soon flipped onto his back and pinned to the ground.
Jeremy growled down at him, his silver eyes intense and powerful. Tommy whimpered feeling helpless and unfairly attacked.
Jeremy locked his jaw around Tommy’s neck in the ultimate sign of dominance, and Tommy let go of his wolf, shifting back to human.
Jeremy must have felt the change because he also shifted, and their fur disappeared.
Now Tommy was staring up into the glittering blue eyes of a naked Jeremy, still pinning him to the ground. He was burning hot even against Tommy’s own heated skin, his huge muscles bulging beneath his smooth skin.
Tommy’s cock hardened and lengthened as he attempted to get up but was pinned back down by the man he hoped to share a mate with.
“Let me up.” He grunted and twisted, but Jeremy just held him as though it were no effort at all.
Tommy arched his back and screamed out, but nothing changed. Jeremy grabbed his wrists and held them tighter. Panic began to swim through him.
“It’s not my fault.” He panted as he thrashed his head from side to side. Tommy was frantic in his arousal now. What would Jeremy think when he felt it? He was fully hard now, so there was no way of hiding it.
Jeremy dropped his head and bit into his neck, the move carnal as well as dominant.
Tommy shuddered and worked to slow his breathing down. Jeremy didn’t lift his head, just whispered into Tommy’s ear.
“I know, and I’m sorry. We’ll find her together.”
Tears formed at the back of Tommy’s eyes, and he blinked them away. There was the man he wanted. Fuck! He wanted to keep on hating Jeremy! It made things so much easier.

Michael and Nathaniel have been lovers for 500 years but they feel incomplete without their third and final mate. They find who they need in the feisty and beautiful Lady Margaret. Let the fireworks begin!
What was your favorite scene to write? Why?
I have to say the opening one. 200 words into the manuscript, my two men are up against a wall. I had to stop and email some author friends to make sure it was okay to continue!
I will tell you, Tamsin, I enjoyed that first scene too! That’s the way to start an erotic romance novel! 🙂
Are there any aspects of yourself in any of the characters in your book?
Hmm, I’m pretty independent and feisty and so is Margaret. But that’s about it.
As an author myself, I find one of the hardest parts to completing a story is coming up with a title that captures the true essence of the story. How do you come up with the title to your stories?
This one literally popped into my head about half way through. I tend to just wait for it to come to me.
I love it when the title makes itself known!
Three words that would best describe you.
Blunt, Nice, Loving.
Do you have any unique talents or hobbies?
Well, I do multi task quite well. But I’m a Gemini.
Multi-tasking is definitely a talent for most women. We don’t really have a choice! 😉
Do you have any tips or advice for authors trying to get published?
Yes- never stop writing and talk to/email/facebook as many other authors as you can.
I agree wholeheartedly.
Before you go, can you please provide us with a tantalizing snippet from your book?
“You fucking bastard!” Michael spat at Nathaniel, his thirst so high his fangs were extended and wouldn’t retract.
Nathaniel ignored him as they walked through the streets searching for someone to feed on. Michael knew that he needed blood, now. Anyone would do.
His skin was clammy, and his thirst burnt his throat. It felt like someone had set his oesophagus alight.
He and Nathaniel had been searching for a sweet smelling female for him to feed on when he had smelled Margaret. He had moved before he had decided he needed to follow her. Never had he smelled anyone like her, the magnetic pull, irresistible. Even with Nathaniel in the beginning, he had never felt anything like it.
Michael groaned and dug his fingernails into his hands. He couldn’t decide which emotion was stronger. To feed or fuck? Thanks to deprivation and the arrival of their mate, he needed both so badly.
They heard a woman scream and took off at a run. They found a dirty smelling gentleman forcing himself on a woman who looked like a whore in an alley. It was easy to see that she was not complying.
Nathaniel reached the woman at the same time as Michael grabbed the disgusting man.
Michael sank his fangs into the man’s throbbing artery, and sweet, lovely blood flowed into his starved body. He groaned and pulled the man closer, his cock hardening.
He drank and drank, his thirst unquenchable, and for once, Michael didn’t care. This man did not deserve to live.
Nathaniel stepped up behind him and gently but persistently pulled his head back.
Michael found a shred of humanity still left in his soul. So he disengaged, and the unconscious, but still alive, man slid to the ground. He looked around. The whore was gone. Nathaniel must have taken her back to the house she came from.
His thirst now quenched, his rock-hard cock now had priority. He looked at his mate. His beautiful, generous, far too controlled mate.
“I need you.”
Nathaniel laughed and stepped closer. He dropped his hand down to Michael’s cock and rubbed it hard.
Michael’s breath hissed out between his teeth, and his eyes slid closed. If his mate would just continue doing that, he would come in no time. But no, his mate had other ideas.
Nathaniel whispered into his ear. “I don’t want another alley-way fuck, my love. We have found our third. Let us go home and celebrate.”
Michael shook with his desire but forced it down. His lover was right, and they both deserved more than what his body had in mind.
He turned in Nathaniel’s arms and kissed him. He slid his tongue along Nathaniel’s and rubbed his body against Nathaniel’s hardening one.
“You are right. We are soon to be complete. Let’s go.”
Michael grabbed Nathaniel’s hand, and they ran home. Once there, they kissed and licked every inch of each other’s skin and took turns fucking each other.
They were insatiable, the nervous energy working through their systems in different ways. Michael wanted to go back to Margaret and claim her, turn her so that they could be together forever. But he also knew why Nathaniel wanted to wait, and a small part of him silently thanked his mate for being the reasonable one.
The both came several times before sunrise, finally collapsing due to sheer exhaustion and the bliss of knowing they had found their third.
Before Michael passed out that night he realised Nathaniel was right. Margaret needed to join them willingly. Fall in love with them. And that would mean they would have to woo her, God help us.
Tamsin Baker’s Timing is Everything
Today, I’d like to welcome Tamsin Baker, an Evernight Publishing sister to the Spicy Butterfly Garden. Tamsin is here promoting her hot new Evernight Publishing Romance on the Go, Timing is Everything. She’s given us a scorching excerpt from her new book! Enjoy… I know I did!
Excerpt from Timing Is Everything:
Mark held open Angie’s door and guided her into the car without touching her. Sadness and disappointment shut down her breathing. Angie knew she shouldn’t have felt that way after he had shared such an incredible experience with her, but she did and she didn’t know what to do about the tension between them now.
They had always walked a tight line, Mark and her. He was currently single but had been married for almost ten years before a messy divorce and several girlfriends. She was currently in a new but committed relationship.
They never seemed to get their lives to coordinate properly and their timing was always off. Maybe she shouldn’t have pushed so hard to come investigate this party with him? Had she threatened their friendship?
Mark slipped into the driver side, his hand going to his pants to readjust himself.
“Sorry.” He apologized as he started the car.
Angie laughed. What else was there to do at a moment like this? They were both turned on, and yet they could do nothing about it. “Why? I’m as uncomfortable as you are, I’m sure.”
His head turned to her, brown eyes piercing in the darkness. Angie didn’t let her gaze drop. She had always wanted this man and her arousal was partly due to him. But, she couldn’t, she was in a relationship!
However, with Angie’s heart rate increasing steadily and her head fuzzy as though intoxicated, that didn’t seem all that pertinent at the moment.
“You’re aroused?” His voice was gruff, as though he had been standing around a campfire too long.
Angie giggled, again inappropriately. “Of course I am. Did you see that final scene? Wow …”
Mark cleared his throat and shifted in his car seat again. His face showed worry and something Angie couldn’t work out, which was unusual as she usually read him better than anyone.
She frowned as she surveyed him a moment longer. “Mark, what’s wrong?”
He cleared his throat and set his shoulders. “We’ve been friends a long time and I have no wish to ruin that …” he trailed off.
Angie’s heart rate sped up again and she clenched her knees together as a new gush of wetness soaked her panties. “Yes?”
“I’ve always wanted to taste you.”
