I grew up in a sports family. We watched sports. We played sports. We lived sports. So, it is no wonder why I love the men of sports! Soccer! Football! Hockey! Rugby! Baseball! You name it! Since it’s the start of the regular season for baseball, I thought I’d kick off this Tuesday with my six hottest MLB players to look for this season and no, I’m sorry, you won’t find Derek Jeter! 🙂
Joe Mauer – Minnesota Twins – Catcher
In baseball, I’m a huge fan of the catcher. I think it’s the hardest position on the field. You don’t need to just be a good athlete to be a good catcher, you need to be intelligent too. So, when Joe Mauer pops his face mask off to stop a steal at second and he’s also a hottie… well, that’s just icing on the proverbial cake!
Franklin Guitierrez – Seattle Mariners – Outfielder
Franklin is from Venuzeula and it shows! His South American looks are oh so sexy! He’s been nicknamed ‘Guti’ or ‘Death to Flying Things.’ He’s known for his fierce plays in the outfield snagging fly balls that would otherwise be homeruns!
Mike Trout – Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim – Outfielder
Mike’s the baby of this bunch, having been born in 1991, but he’s already quite the MLB superstar. He won the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year award by a landslide and landed himself one heck of a contract with the Angels.
David Wright – NY Mets – 3B
David bears the nickname ‘Captain America’ for his leadership and play for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. He also has his own charity – the David Wright Foundation – that raises money for research and promoting awareness of multiple sclerosis. A hottie with a heart!
Nick Markakis – Baltimore Orioles – Outfielder
Now this sexy man is right up my alley. I got to see Nick up close when I went to watch the O’s play a spring training game in Sarasota, Florida. He is dreamy. He’s got that dark and handsome Greek look that makes you all swoony and when he steps up to the plate, he is one of the smoothest batters I’ve ever watched… and I’m not even an Orioles fan! Yummy!
David Freese – Former St. Louis Cardinals – Now Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim – 3B
David was instrumental in the Cardinals 2011 postseason run, but he is best known for his smile.. at least that’s what the girls around the water cooler tell me! 😉
Baseball season can be long, but when you have something like these six guys to look forward, it makes the lengthy season not seem so bad. Enjoy! And if you missed DC Stone’s Man Candy Monday, fret no more. You can find it at http://www.authordcstone.com
